Splinters

Do: Use tweezers or a small needle to get it out ASAP.

Don't: Ignore it or soak it in water.

That splinter is a foreign frame that your body will apprehend within mins, Carius says. "White blood cells
will be sent to fight off the invader, and the longer it remains in there, the more likely it is to get inflamed because of the bacteria that enter with it. You can get a pretty nasty contamination with a splinter."

If you may see the splinter, use tweezers to pull it out; if you can't, see a medical doctor. (If you soak a wooden splinter in water first, it could absorb water, grow to be softer and spoil apart underneath your pores and skin, that can result in contamination, Carius warns.) Once you get the splinter out, wash the vicinity in cleaning soap and water and practice an antibacterial ointment.
