Truth Social Android app no longer authorized on Google Play Store

Aug 30 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump's social media platform Truth Social has now not but been authorised for distribution on Alphabet Inc's (GOOGL.O) Google Play Store due to inadequate content moderation, according to a Google spokesperson on Tuesday.


The postpone marks a setback for the app, which released in the Apple App Store on Feb. 21. Android telephones comprise approximately 40% of the U.S. Phone marketplace. Without the Google and Apple stores, there may be no easy way for maximum cellphone customers to download Truth Social.

“On August 19, we notified Truth Social of several violations of general policies in their modern-day app submission and reiterated that having effective systems for moderating consumer-generated content is a condition of our phrases of provider for any app to head stay on Google Play,” Google said in a statement.


“Last week, Truth Social wrote back acknowledging our remarks and announcing that they are operating on addressing these problems.”
