Sir Sean Connery has died on the age of 90, his family has said.
The Scottish actor was excellent regarded for his portrayal of James Bond, being the first to bring the function to the large display screen and acting in seven of the spy thrillers.
Sir Sean died peacefully in his sleep inside the Bahamas, having been "sick for some time", his son stated.
His appearing profession spanned five a long time and he won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in The Untouchables.
Sir Sean's other movies covered The Hunt for Red October, Highlander, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock.
Jason Connery said his father "had many of his family, who may be in the Bahamas, round him" whilst he died overnight in Nassau. Much of the Bond movie Thunderball have been filmed there.
He stated: "We are all operating at expertise this massive occasion because it only came about so recently, despite the fact that my dad has been unwell for some time.
"A unhappy day for all who knew and loved my dad and a unhappy loss for all and sundry around the arena who enjoyed the awesome gift he had as an actor."
His publicist Nancy Seltzer said: "There may be a private ceremony observed by using a memorial yet to be deliberate once the virus has ended."
He leaves his spouse Micheline and sons Jason and Stephane.
Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, stated Sir Sean become "one of the real greats of cinema".
"Sir Sean Connery could be remembered as Bond and so much greater," he said.
"He described an era and a fashion. The wit and appeal he portrayed on display screen will be measured in megawatts; he helped create the current blockbuster.
"He will retain to persuade actors and film-makers alike for future years. My mind are with his circle of relatives and cherished ones."
In connection with Sir Sean's love of golfing, he introduced: "Wherever he is, I desire there is a golfing path."
Dame Shirley Bassey, who sang the issues to three Bond movies inclusive of Goldfinger, paid tribute saying: "I'm fairly saddened to hear of Sean's passing.
"My thoughts are along with his circle of relatives. He become a amazing person, a real gentleman and we can be forever linked through Bond."
Sir Sean, from Fountainbridge in Edinburgh, had his first fundamental movie appearance in 1957 British gangster movie No Road Back.
He first played James Bond in Dr No in 1962 and went on to seem in 5 different legitimate movies - and the unofficial Never Say Never Again in 1983.
He became largely regarded as being the pleasant actor to have performed 007 inside the long-jogging franchise, regularly being named as such in polls.
